The Grabber is a fun, nostalgic brooch made from laser cut plywood, with a kinetic grabber hand, and hand painted elements giving a nod to seaside holidays and arcade fun!

No trip to the seaside would be complete without a visit to the arcade. How many 20p pieces were lost in an attempt to win that toy out of the grabber machine? 

In honour of the holidaymaker’s war with the grabber, this layered laser cut brooch is a double layer of plywood with hand painted details and a kinetic swinging claw to grab the booty.

The Grabber was created from our own hand drawn arcade illustration in our studio in the Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham. We love making quirky, illustrative accessories that we would want to wear ourselves. We just hope that we aren’t alone in our obsessions!

How big is our grabber machine?

The Grabber is made from FSC certified plywood on our laser cutter Bertha. This means it’s responsibly sourced wood from our local saw mill and laser cut and etched in our Jewellery Quarter studio, hurrah!

Each Grabber is hand painted in gouache paint.

Although the item has been sealed with varnish please keep away from water. The brooch back is a nickel barrel pin.
